Generate Demand History only generates base demand history - it doesn't refresh the Forecast Maintenance table that holds the data displayed on the forecasting screens. The same applies to imported demand history.
You should always run Generate Base Forecast immediately after generating or importing demand history, and this automatically runs Refresh Forecast Maintenance Table to refresh the screen displays. If you don't want to regenerate forecasts, you can run Refresh Forecast Maintenance Table from the menu.
